I'm still getting used to my new Rubi TS 60 plus and I'm having a little trouble cutting some 60 x 30 porcelain wall tiles. They keep on chipping/shelling a 1 cm piece at the breaker end . I know with the breakers that have an over head arm you can control the pressure applied to the breaker with a tapping motion with the heel of your hand and that helps get a clean break.
Anyone have any tips for clean cutting / snapping with the TS 60 ?
Cheers, Phil.

I couldn't get to grips with the one I had Phil, same thing as yourself, so I got a tx700, far superior machine, especially when cutting porcelain:thumbsup:

i did a hearth in 600mm sq porc 10mm thick ,and had the same problem, rather than a quick snap, i found pushing down slowly stopped the chipping , although i heard on here the 10mm wheel i was using , should have been 18mm,steve

My ts 60 is **** at 600 porcelain, perhaps its me, but I just dont use it whatsoever anymore for that.
The 700 is the way to go.
Infact I need to order mine this week!

are you scoring it correctly, right to the end of the tile?try a quick jerk of the wrist action on the snapping bar.

Same here, I got the TS60 plus when it first came out (thank you David Neave) and it's is generally hopeless on 600x300 porcelain. I find it easiest to score it, take it out of the machine, lay it some ply with a pencil just behind the score and smack it with the palm of my hand. Snaps clean every time but a bit of a pain.

The newer TX are underneath breakers are reckoned to be much better but the cost of buying both is a bit much.

I also find that the exploding bit is almost always to the left of the score line so if you make that your offcut/waste then it doesnt really matter. Slow and easy is better than a "quick snapping" action.
