We are tiling a bathroom floor which is covered with 18mm WBP plywood. Which tiling adhesive and grout would the forum recommend and would you prime the floor? Would you grout to the wall or seal the edge with Silicon? 😕

Welcome to the forums diyer, More info is required to answer that question please;
1. how big an area
2. is the floor solid ie: no deflection
3. has the plywood been sealed back and edges
4. has it been screwed at 300mm centres
5. what type of tile & size

Hi GazTech,

1) 3m x 2.75m (including bath and shower base, both these areas have been tanked.)
2) 18mm ply on top of floorboards, level.
3) No
4) Yes
5) ceramic 330x330mm

thanks Diyer

Top spec
Fastflex onto ply ( damp sponge to remove dust ) no need to prime.
Easypoxy grout.
Secondary spec
Single part flex ( mixed with water ) slow or rapid set.
Superflex grout, or standard with enhance liquid polymers.
Sealant
If not exposed to view, leave an expansion to the wall of 1cm....pump in Silicon or cover with skirting or wall tiles.
Hope this helps......Gaz

personally i would never use nothing but 2 p/t flex on wood with a s/p flex grout.
preferably bal superflex grout and either bal fast flex or mapei kerraquick with liquid, but on a floor that size i would more likely use the bal product.
