I have various Zircons ranging in age up to 15 years or so. They work well. I recently bought the one with "the bells and whistles", which finds steel, pipe, electric, etc. I think it was only about $50. It will deep scan plaster, as well.

Rob - is that new plaster skim (say under 4 months old), Ive got a Ryobi and my mate has a top of the range Bosch and neither work on plaster at second fix stage. though they both work on old established plaster in our houses back home, but for new house builds Id like to find a stud finder that works.

Hi Stan, I'd have to experiment with that deep scan feature on new plaster. I use it in old houses where the plaster was finished 50-100 years ago, and is definately dried out by now. 😀

I'll try to remember to check it the next time my men are doing plaster work on one of our jobs.

Still got the old gold chain, open shirt and a hairy chest, I can grow a magnum tache in a week or so, call me up sometime, maybe we can do something, know what I'm saying.
Ferrari is long gone but I do have access to a mates Morris Marina.
