Sticking down cement based boards

Has anyone had experience of using Hardibacker type boards over a screed. The ones in this case are a variant thereof. There is no possibility in this instance of mechanically fixing the boards (i.e. screwing them down) as they are to be used as a finished floor. I am thinking that a simple flexible tile adhesive ought to stick em down. They are not going to be tiled. Not my cup of tea personally but each to their own I guess.

What do you all think?

You got it right Alan.. you just solid fix them down... just like large tiles...lol..

as long as you go for 100% bed in the way you fix them into the flexy addy there should be no problem's mate

Cheers guys. thought that might be the case. Do the backs of the board need to be primed generally before sticking them down?

No More Ply reccomend priming floor and then both sides of boards with SBR 1-3 mix.

I just read the info and it states to use SBR if waterproofing is required...

Must be a dusty board to start with compared to hardi backer neale...The cement faced ones like wedi ...marmox etc don't and hardi doesn't either..
