Schluter Kerdi-Board - tank?

I had a bathroom installer around and he said that even if putting up Schluter Kerdi-Board on the walls, as it's not much more expensive to additionally tank it with a paint-on tanking product he would do that.

I was wondering if there's any drawbacks to this? Perhaps Schluter Kerdi-Board wouldn't absorb a paint-on tanking product?

No, you tape the joints with schluter tape. The boards are waterproof. I would be checking that you are not being fobbed off. Have you seen the boards being fixed yet?

Sorry, just re-read it and realised you haven't had it done yet. Same applies regarding Schluter Kerdi keba band though for joints

Hi,

As above Schlüter-KERDI-BOARD is waterproof, and only requires any joints (board, and floor to wall joints) to be sealed with KERDI-KEBA and KERDI-COLL. There is no need to apply additional waterproofing.

As Impish (thanks) states above feel free to call the office on 01530 813396 and we can advise further both you and/or your bathroom installer.
