Hello everyone. Longtime no speak.

I'm hoping to get hold of Marky (Mark Davis) for this one if he's still tiling. I tried is number at home but no answer. Anyhow, my question.

We've got 2 puppies that like to chew the vinyl floor in the kitchen and I'm tired of replacing the chewed parts with small offcuts to keep it looking nice. The wife and I have decided to get the floor tiled.

Is there anything we need to be looking out for when considering the dogs urinate on the kitchen floor? I'm thinking staining of the surface and the grout with the ongoing smell if the grout absorbs the urine. Colour of tiles and or type? I've read a few posts on here about epoxy based grouts and Polysulphide Sealants..

I'm assuming we'd be tiling direct onto the concrete floor so would need a levelling compound which would allow for heated floor, again anything in particular or would a backer board need to be used?

As some of you may know, I can get Ardex products cheaply and easily so if you can recommend anything in their range?

Thanks again for any responses.

Last we heard from Marky was that he was trying to get back into tiling but a victim of the times I think.
