Hi folks

I was looking for a tile calculator website on Google the other day and noticed that some of them were quite basic. I am web developer by trade, not a tiler and was wondering if you professionals or the DIYers among you have found the existing websites or apps out there to be lacking in anyway?

I was thinking of making one that could visualise more complex mosaics and calculate the required number of tiles but not sure if anyone would even find that useful? Any thoughts would be much appreciated...

I for one wouldn't be interested but I am a Luddite and posting this is testing my tech skills

The issue you will have is how/where you set the tiling out from and how much wastage you will incur.
1 extra cut around a room could add metres to your calculation.
Pattern tiles need to be followed around corners and on occasions that could be the remaining cut, plus the thickness of tile and adhesive.
For the DIY it could help but a professional would work the quantities out on the back of a *** packet or similar I Pad!
