Primer before tiling

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Hello. New here so go easy please lol...

I’ve cut my tiles to size and laid Mapei 1210 self leveller. I read about priming the slc before I tile so I bought the nx sbr primer from wickes and applied it neat. It skinned and I had to get the whole lot up. I’ve done it again with a 4:1 ratio and it’s a lot better but places or still tacky and if I apply pressure it lifts off the slc. I can’t lay the tiles at the minute as the areas I’m leaning down on will pull up the primer.

The primer has been down around 12 hours, how long does it need to dry? Where am I going wrong? Do I need the primer at all?

Thank you

All i can see is tiles
Sorry Dave, was posting on my phone and attached a few photos but hasn't uploaded all.

On a pc now so here goes.. It is only like this in small areas where I put pressure and it picks it up. If I roll it away and then re-apply it seems fine.

I'm a bit ocd so do i lay tiles on this or remove it and then just lay the tiles on top of the slc?

Thank you
