Polishing silver trav

Good Evening All

Just on with a bathroom in silver trav at the moment that requires quite a bit of bullnosing/polishing.

I have used the same formula as I would with mid trav - stone router then 80, 220, 400 Silicon carbide paper but with this stone i'm having difficulty matching the finished appearance with the face of the stone.

The bullnosed area looks faded and flat and you can see a clear contrast between the 2 surfaces.

When wet the 2 look equal.

Any thoughts? Do Lithofin does a enhancer that does not give a wet/gloss look?

Cheers.

Kevin

We have the lithofin colour intensifier which could be tested, cloth a small amount to the edge. This is an impregnator with a Matt finish. or could you come Up a further grade on the paper which may bring colour through or will that produce a greater shine than the tile body,

400# silicon carbide is a honed/satin finish, you'll need to go further with 600, 800 and maybe even 1200 to bring up the polish to the same degree.

Chemicals won't help, it's a mechanical polish you require.

Also be very sure to spend long enough getting the tool marks of the profiler out, they will show more as the polish is increased.

Apologies it is honed.

400 on slow speed is the highest grade I can go otherwise it starts to polish, yet it looks as though it needs a high grade to bring the colour through.

Have tried Lithofin Colour Intensifier on the edge and it seems to have worked a treat and blends the face and edge in well.

Cheers guys
