Good afternoon

I have recently had a new kitchen extension to my property. The problem I have is the existing floor is very uneven. The old floor has had various coverings on during its lifetime and now I am left with an exceptionally uneven floor. I appreciate I can apply a self levelling floor solution but my main concern is this will drastically increase the floor height. My initial thought is for me to chisel away as much as possible the old uneven floor to an acceptable level then apply a self levelling compound. The pure thought of doing this is frightening and appears to be very time consuming.

Can anyone help? Your thoughts and ideas are most greatly appreciated.

the self levelling compound will only increase the floo to it's highest point,if your careful with it! and b&q are doing a 20kg bag for £3.50 called sika, which several people have assured me on the forum is a well used brand across europe:8:
