This has probably been covered loads of times, but apologises as to some of us it is all new and very basic.

Remove old tiles, quite effectivley, with little damage to the wall by myself, only to find that the builders had left the plaster board damaged in the centre of the wall, understand the new tiles need good surface, just need ro know simpliest way to repair damage plaster board without rebuilding the bathroom,

Cut the damaged area away, screw a couple of battens behind the existing plasterboard on the edges where your've cut out, then add new board.

Many thanks for response, basically inset the new piece of plaster board in to area where the damage was?

Well impressed with speed of response, the wife didn`t see the funny side when I did it whilst she was still in the bath...........
