if there is plenty of support for it to screwed to yes, otherwise you'd be better with the 10 or 12 (whichever it is)

I usually use a 10mm Wedi panel instead, easier to carry upstair and cut with no mess, big enough to do the side and end panel from one sheet and no need to join panels of hardibacker together as one isnt long enough for a side panel.

I dont usually bother with the feet kits though.

hiya lads ,so wedi is a foam board ?

just looked on their website, it can be used for levelling out a floor,is this better or easier than SLC,cheers steve

I think wedi board is the same/similar as marmox and is more expensive than hardibacker. besides if you want to leave a removable access panel in the bath then you need to do it in 2 pieces anyway, just utilise the grout joint nearest/best for the waste and isolation valves.

If given the choice, I would rather set tile on Wedi than on Hardi backer. The thinset seems to grab better to the surface of the Wedi.

Its more expensive than hardibacker per sheet, but is twice as big, one 10mm wedi is cheaper than 2 hardibacker boards for me but we all use different suppliers, Gazebo, I cut out an access hole in the wedi and make an access panel from the tiles.

Wedi for me is cheaper and much much easier, very light, can be cut with a stanley knife.

It takes about 10 minutes for me to get it in the house, cut to size and put in place, I couldnt do one from hardibacker or cement board that quick.
