Hi lads, went to look a mates floor, Honed and Filled Trav, they had it layed 2 years ago, substrate is half concrete and half suspended floor, in about 7 tiles have small hairline cracks in them, not running the whole length of the tile just a couple of inches long.None of these are on the tile that sit where the substrats meet, they are randomly dotted around.Any ideas what this could be? Tile defect? spot bed?

Hard to say...could just be fault lines or natural cracking..could even be small stress cracks...

I would more than likely say just normal type small fractures..if the tile isn't loose then they can be filled.

Do a sounding test on the cracked tiles to check for hollowness.

does the lady of the house wear "high heels?",
still should not happen but if the tiles were not back buttered (to fill the holes in the backs of the tiles" these "stress" cracks can apprear!!
