Used Ultimateflex for the first time this week and I have to say I didn't find it too bad. It is a bit "sticky" when mixed correctly, but it is very fine. It has similar properties to Ardexflex 7001 but is not as course ( maybe about as fine in texture as Mosaic fix from BAL in fact).
I used it under and over 6mm Hardie on a 2m2 floor. It went down ok, not as easy to trowel as some adhesives, but it cleans up quite easily. The floor feels very solid as well. I would be happy to use it again. It is quite cost effective really. £39 for 6.5m2 coverage with a solid bed trowel, so much cheaper than Fastflex.
I also indulged in a new angle grinder on special at CTD. First time I have used one. Well, what a time saver for cutting round shower trays. Well worth the £20! just need to get some ear defs now..........
