Ditra on chipboard

I'll have to ask the developer the question, there's getting on for 60m2 so it'll bump the price up a treat adding HB to it. I'm not overly keen on the idea of fixing ditra to a wooden substrate anyway, it's not my idea of a proper job.

If it was me personally 60m is too much of a risk, I would recommend 6mm board fixed in the normal manner.

like I said in my previous post mine was only 3m and there was no deflection. If its new build Bri you could be asking for trouble.

I know mate, I've always tried to spec jobs to the highest standard and as yet, have never had a failure that I know of. Unless I'm 100% happy, I'd rather not do it than get a 5k repair bill.

Hi Andy,I wouldn't necessarily focus on green coloured chipboard being the problem as Egger removed the green dye/pigment from their P5 boards a few years ago.

Hi Bri, I had a floor to tile a few weeks ago, substrate was chipboard, deflection free, I spoke to schluter tech and they said to use ardex af200 to fix the ditra down, got it from CTD, 5 litres covered about 5m square

from schluter "As long as the substrate is capable of taking the weight of the tiled surface, Schlüter-DITRA can be applied directly to any existing timber -- including plywood and chipboard.

So you can fit it direct to wooden floorboards but would you fit it direct to wooden floorboards?
The bit that gets me is the.....''Ensure adequate underfloor ventilation''.....???? a vent every 400mm??? and how do you ensure a positive airflow between the joists when a floor doesn't necessarily have any direct access to an exterior wall?
