i spoke to roy at dewalt and he assured me that the only difference between the old model and the new model was

1. the new model came with a newer improved blade
2. the new model was fitted with a larger flange to prevent any blade wobble

i have the older model and he sent me out a new flange and blade to compensate..
thats all i was told. tt said the side extension had extra steel bolts fitted but mine had them and roy said there was no difference...

hope this helps

Rikcardo

Hi Guys mine arrived to day at 5.00pm so pick it up on the way Home:hurray:
Put it together and tested a few cuts on natural 2cm thick onyx 60x40 and 1.5cm thick Granite 60x40 and a couple of 50x50 grade 5 Porcelain and cut a dream!
But at 45 degrees it chips quite a bit when trying to do external cuts and yes I tried tiles up side down as well, and as I do a lot of external mitres with natural stone has anyone had the same problem and solved it with a blade change and if so what Blade do you use.
Cheers Rikcardo

Gazzer

No issues here with chipping. I havent used the same materials as Rikcardo but the mitres done on some highly glazed ceramics were perfect everytime. I didnt mitre through a tile though, choosing to mitre the finished edge and leave the tip of the glaze intact....if that makes sense.
I have mitred Travertine through the tile and had no problems

Standard wheel still in use.
