Creating a portfolio

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has any nice tips when putting together a portfolio of your work. For example, is it just a case of putting some photo's of your work into a portfolio file or should you perhaps back the pictures onto card first?, should you include any captions or descriptions to go with each photo?, is there a perticular layout etc etc?

Any help would be very much appreciated as i have done quite a few jobs now and want to begin to put together a portfolio to blow away any kitchen/bathroom companies i go to tout for business 🙂

Certificates at the front, including a CRB check. Then references from past customers. Then pictures of work (Before / during and after shots).

Criminal Record Bureax. It gives the customer an idea if they are about to let a criminal or not into their home.

Because of my curernt job i have a CRB check but would never have thought to include it, thanks concept.

CRB check - probably a nice touch - I have one, but have never used it in relation to my tiling. I do not see it as relevant. I used to do some charity work through Barnado's with Foster children, had to be checked for that. It has no real relevance to whether you can tile or not.
Why not put your survival swimming certificate in there ? Will prove you can swim out in case you cause a flood !! :wink_smile:

The CRB is a good thing I think. I'd have loved to check some of the gits I've paid for jobs. I had a guy once steal a DVD or two out of a car I had when it went in for the repair of a smashed wind screen. Maybe if he's done it before I could have seen so with a CRB check.

I wouldn't always refuse a guy for not providing one though I think.
