Hi all,

After approx a year off the tiling, loads of other stresses in my life last year, Dad passed away , me and x splitting and me moving out bla bla bla, I really couldnt focus on tiling at all, anyway i am getting my appetite back for it and was thinking of changing my company name, im no sure if I can get away with this but would love to hear your opinion, is this new name good or just stupid? i have already purchased the domain name just incase!

possible infringement of copy write, but if not and you like it, then go for it.... though i would change the font of the ceramic tiling specialists..

Yeah, I know we are tiling specialists lol, my queery purley relates to the obvious marketting rip off of the facebook name. I think it will get noticed and be a head turner but as stewart says, it could be against the law??

The idea is clever, and yes, it did make me look twice - the ceramic tiling font needs to be in the same font I reckon, to make it more legit somehow, and more legible, too. Maybe google facebook brand name copyright or something along those lines and see, and not everyone is on facebook anyhow, yes clever idea, easy to remember

I don't think you'll have an issue.
A local pet shop company to me is called "Petco" and they have copied the Tesco logo. Someone complained and they received a corporate letter requesting that they change their logo or face prosecution - no real biggie.

Just do it and if you get a letter, then just change the logo design slightly. It's not like you are trying to trade on the back of their business is it?

Good luck,

Daz

wooo, can be a bit of an expensive issue if you have to have all your signwriting letterheads, business cards etc redone... I'd check beforehand...

Surely, if you are prepared to gamble on ripping off someone else's logo, then some minor re-printing expense is the least of your worries.

Well, I you put it like that... .... actually, you have got a point, it could be perceived as ripping off rather than just clever in a good way, so maybe not a good idea, even though it's a clever one..
