Time's Ran Out

It's that time of the year again when the boxes of 4/6 sweet mince pies are on the end aisles of the supermarkets.
Bought my bait last night for today and impulse bought a box of Morrisons 4 sweet mince pies.
Well I have to say these were one of the nicest sweet mince pies I've had in a long time. Firm shortcrust pastry well filled with a not too sweet but fresh currants+.
Really tempted to have another but will have to wait till teatime.
No doubt I'll be well sick of them by the festive season but who else likes sweet mince pies - and why are they not called currant tarts?

So lunch today was - Scotch egg, pork pie, sweet mince pie, 2 cups coffee. Now I'am ready to face some more Metro tiles!

But which are the best?
I'am going to do a tasting test.
So far : 1) Morrisons - 'The Best' range - deep filled mince pies.
Got to eat another 2 before I get an alternative ( yes I had a second with a 2.30 cup of tea)

Home made Min Spies in our house. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM unbeatable

But how do I know that!
You'll have to get one I've recommended and compare with your home made one. Your results will be published under 'and others'.
But the thought of a warm mince pie straight off the cooling tray makes me want no. 3 from my packet of 4.
