would

Search the forum,
The English modal verbs are a subset of the English auxiliary verbs used mostly to express modality (properties such as possibility, obligation, etc.). They can be distinguished from other verbs by their defectiveness (they do not have participle or infinitive forms) and by their neutralization (that they do not take the ending -(e)s in the third-person singular).
The principal English modal verbs are can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, and must. Certain other verbs are sometimes, but not always, classed as modals; these include ought, had better, and (in certain uses) dare and need. Verbs which share only some of the characteristics of the principal modals are sometimes called "quasi-modals", "semi-modals", or "pseudo-modals".

Which adhesive would you use do I need an S1 adhesive?

Hi I am renovating my house here in Italy, in the spring I took up the existing floor screed on the first floor and have installed a wet UFH system. This was screeded using a self-levelling cementitious product from Fassa Bortolo called SA500. The screed was laid on the 23rd May to a thickness...

So, what would be the dream if not tiling?

As the title asks, what’s the dream. Mine would be a modest cottage in deepest Cumbria with a bit of land for camping and a few barns to renovate and let out to holiday makers. Not too much stress, plenty of clean air and lots of walking with the dogs. That’s what I’m working for, hopefully...

Hi all. In line with my other thread asking for some opinions on tiling layouts for my bathroom reno redo, here are some pictures showing why I’m not happy with the current install. Let me know if I’m just being fussy. I supplied the tile, which was approved by the tiler (who was also the...

Would you tile on to this bathroom floor?

Undecided whether to rip this all up and replace with 18mm ply then overboard with 6mm NMP or similar. Or sure it up with plenty of screws and overboard with 12mm NMP or similar. The ply that is down at the moment is some 15mm with no deflection that I can detect really. But this house is...

Crack in newly fitted travertine tile. What would cause this?

Tiling nightmare continues... These were fixed at the start of the month and in the last few days this crack has appeared. I think a crack (or two) might be appearing in the tile above too. We're not in a good place with this. I've no confidence in our tiler's ability (see previous thread)...

Layout advice, please. Would this look too bad?

Hi there! I finally decide to plan the layout from the entry door, with full tiles across the center of the hall and going from there into the adjoining rooms. With the sitting room works perfect but in the kitchen/dinning room tiles would be too small on one side (as seen in pics). The grout...

Would you consider working abroad for a short period?

As the title says really..... Would you consider working abroad for a short period of time? This is not a thread offering work!, just to see what others thoughts or experiences of it are. Would you bother with 2 mats?

12m2 conservatory floor so ideally 11m2 mat. Would you bother with 2 mats or do you think 10m2 mat opened up a bit would suffice? Trav tiles so should heat up nicely.
