    Deposit for booking jobs

I've been reading all these deposit style threads with great interest. I'm going to issue contracts from http://www.clickdocs.co.uk When u see the specific contract for tiling you may think its a bit of an overkill. What are your feelings on getting a deposit before starting a job. Do get one on expensive jobs or always? I know TV programmes advise customers not to pay up front just in-case the workman does a runner... Any thoughts?

    My 1st stab at tiling!

To be honest having studied the picture a few times...I think he may have done the best thing.....rather than leaving cuts to one or other corner and possibly a tricky cut

    My 1st stab at tiling!

If I can learn from it...then it don't matter........always use sink as a centre in this situation? even if it isn't centre of wall?

    My 1st stab at tiling!

That's interesting the pic of the sink......you've centred the tiles on wall......would it have looked ok to have used the sink as the centre as you have mentioned....would you have had a small cut at the right-hand side? I've been taught to create chunky cuts regardless of the sinks...

Its an EDI qualification which includes Tiling,Plastering , Plumbing...not an NVQ but a level 3 vocational qualification.

    Does it matter that I haven't a c&g qualification??

I've done a tiling course and received a level 3 qual in self employment....will it matter that its not C&G?...the C&G course is much longer.
