    SLC over a heat mat......

Agree! You can’t use a spiked roller with Bal either.

    Re-useable lippage clips

Remove after 6 hours?! No thanks! Also looks like removal is a time-consuming faff. I’ll stick to Mustang

Tiling over UFH using a levelling compound onto Marmox Boards

Mapei renovation screed is good, make sure you use correct primers. I also use foam and cut excess off after SLC set. Mapeker isn’t very user friendly imo. I would use an S1 adhesive from any repuable manafacturer - your local tile shop should carry a few options. Does it have to be rapid? A...

    Plasterboard /ceramics

I don’t prime pb, but I always tank any wet areas.

    Tanking normal plasterboard

The Mapei kit bucket with mapegum, tape and primer is good and readily available in screwfix. I like the 2 part ardex one too but it’s not as user friendly.

    Starting out as a Tiler.

Agree with others, try to find a time-served tiler to shadow for a while. You never know what opportunities may come from it. Good luck

Impey Waterguard how high to go (Part 2)

Dot and dab would be fine but you could always screw and plug through the dabs once set.

    SLC over a heat mat......

I usually use bal level max but used mapei renovation screed on my last job. They are fairly similar, but mapei seemed to flow a little more.

How to get shower tray into recess?

Put the tray in tight against the squarest corner and pack the 3rd wall with board, either dot and dab or double thickness if tacked. I’d use a waterproof tiling board like orbry but plasterboard would do. Tank before tiling.

Could it be a fault in the tile glaze?

Tiling onto Ply, can it be a success?

I’d personally ditch the ditra and overboard with 6mm Hardie. S1 adhesive is fine.

    What's your daily grinder

I’ve got the Brushless Makita with the paddle switch and 5ah batteries. Cutting 12mm porc this week, like a hot knife through butter. I do have a corded one but never use it now.

Which tile adhesive did you use most during 2018

Started the year using Norcross but my supplier now stocks Kerakoll too so use bio gel mainly.

Dreadful tiling job, porcelain floor tiles, help!

That’s a horrible job. Either rushed with little or no prep or just inexperienced. The grouting is shocking too. I have lost jobs because my price is higher than another quote to allow for proper prep, tanking etc. There’s always someone who will charge peanuts to throw tiles down. (I’m not...

Grey. Anyone getting bored of it yet?
