    Bad Tiling Job?

That is shocking, I feel for you. Wtf is that ceiling border gap. If he's not refunding or rectifying then you've got no other option I'm afraid than small claims..

Advice for my first tiling job! Small bathroomhi,

I would work right to left so if you do have to trim anything off, it would be under the skirting. A 10mm notched will give you a tad more to work with on the levels.. When you get to the door threshold, you don't want a small cut, for example a 10 or 20mm slither right as you go in. They...

Advice for my first tiling job! Small bathroomhi,

If I was doing it I would; Take the high spots of glue off with a sharp scraper Use a 10mm square notch trowel If your happy the 5 will fit the full width of the room with 3mm spacers, start in the top right and work right to left and down towards the door. Regular checks with a good level, as...

URGENT !! WTF tiles turning grey when applying grout???

I had the same when applying white grout to really cheap white ceramic tiles, its almost of the tile was sucking in the moisture around the edges. I did make the grout a tad wet mind you so it might of been that or at least contributed to it.

How to use aqua boards behind tiles?

You can fix aqua boards direct to the joists. I would tidy up the plasterboard edges, add some noggins to 'catch' the edges of the aqua boards and screw the new boards direct to the joists. Check the depth of the plasterboard 'probably' 12.5mm, you can buy the same depth aqua board as to avoid...

    Tiling a pool

I would say get a professional in. Tiling a swimming pool in glass mosaics is a job a lot of pro tilers would think twice about I bet. Think about how much it would cost you if your tiling failed, not just the replacement of materials but also the leak itself if its indoors. Its not like a...

    Retraining

Hi Nick, There is a big difference in thinking your good enough to tile and actually making a living from it. I'm obviously not saying you cant but Id have a look at the pros work thread on here and if you can get anywhere close to that finish, you might be OK with the career change. I changed...

How to rectify, or just picky?

Id be interested to see how they rectify just a few tiles in the tray. I would think if they set them correctly it wont be an easy feat to remove them without damaging it? To be fair to them it must of taken a bit of skill to get that 4mm triangle of tile sitting right :) Its such a shame...

Help! Kitchen flooded during floor tiling

Id be tempted to leave them be until the floor is fully dry and try and lift one then. If you have primed the floor and laid them properly you might be ok.

    Kitchen Wall Tiling Help

Raise or lower your kitchen units ;). You've only got 12mm to adjust which could be achieved by splitting the difference on the left and the right?

Cutting or drilling 4 inch whole in porcelain tiles on the wall

Just take your time and don't apply too much pressure. As long as the tiles were installed to a good standard you should be fine. Imo theres just as much vibration from a grinder as a hole cutter. A grinder would be quicker though. If your installing a back to wall toilet with a concealed...

    Shower Tray trim vs Silicon

I think the tile to the tray and Silicon is such nicer finish. Trims tend to get used to cover things up. Get yourself a Silicon tool and use that, or employ a Silicon guy to do all the Silicon. I was just made aware they exist. I paid £40 for a bathroom to be siliconed and it was immaculate.

Ok so I made a mistake. Cutting a tile while it’s on the wall?

If it was me, I would use the grinder with someone else holding a hoover to catch the dust but you've got to be really careful cutting a tile once fixed as it could jump and mark the surrounding tiles, if you've got a good blade and they're ceramic tiles then it should be pretty straight...

My 1st Job split face slate

Either butt them up to the edge of the socket rather than trying to go behind or if you want them behind, sort through them trying to find the ones with least variations in depth and use these around the sockets I would think..
