I had this yesterday. I opted for a 15mm quadrant beading for the sill. I was doing brickbond so side reveals weren't an issue - if only doing half wall then you'll have to have 2 cuts on the sides to do away with the need for side beading as that will look as the cut end will be proud and...- macten

Dissimilar sized tiles
You can't. You can minimise the irregularities by going with a slightly wider joint, expect to use plenty of red wedges as well as spacers and go by eye. Choosing a grout colour that blends with tile colour also helps.- macten

My top tip deals with rounded off screw heads. I've had it happen far too often where a 2min job of taking a door off has taken me half an hour 'cos the screws are overpainted and/or rounded off. Yeah something like that. As acaciaguy says it's a lot easier to build it out than making it bigger so as long as you leave wriggle room it's all good. If it falls in the middle of tile then yes use the correct sized bit. The holes in this job fell between tiles so used wet saw and tile file...- macten

Nothing special about the down lights as long as they are suitable for zone 1. Most shower down lights are rated ip65 as these were. Whenever I do niches I initially make them extra big (just build the framework) then when you get to the stage of setting out you can finish the build to suit...- macten
