    Waterproofing shower in a shed

Hello everyone, I am in the process of building a small timber shed that has water and sewage connections. It’s primarily for occasional weekend use, but I want to make sure it’s properly waterproofed. The shed is constructed from timber and insulated with XPS. Since I’m in Germany, where...

Grout lines too bright after grouting, how to fix this?

Hello, after tiling the kitchen area I did grouting but I am not happy with the results. The grout lines are too bright, almost white. Although I used almost dry sponge to wipe off the excess grout (with special rollers so I can get the water out), it seems that I managed to wash off pigments...

Unevenness of the wall to be tiled

Basically, the corner that I "fixed" is not bowed anymore but it is not vertical either. The problem is that once I start tiling the tile edge of the tiles at the corner will be vertical (it has to be) so going up the wall the gap behind the tiles will be bigger and bigger. As you can see in the...

Unevenness of the wall to be tiled

Yes, there is. I removed the old tiles and put new waterproofing so I already had all slopes already done. I also checked because the corner is not completely vertical I will for sure have some deviations up the wall. Not sure how to fix it though.

    Height difference big tiles/mosaic

If I understood you correctly, you suggest putting the "big" tiles first to figure out the height at which my mosaic tiles have to be positioned. Then I can make a slope with mortar. Do you suggest putting first layer of mortar to get everything nice and sloped, and than putting mosaic tiles...

Unevenness of the wall to be tiled

No, the drainage is in the middle, I just applied new sleeve and waterproofed everything as required from the waterproofing manufacturer. It would be nicer to have some lineal drainage, but that would required complete remodelling of the shower which is not that easy (everything put in concrete...

Reaching visible edge with a tile

Nailing is a little bit tricky in Germany with concrete walls but I will find a solution :)

Reaching visible edge with a tile

So it would be logical to start with the upper tile to keep that edge crisp, right? How do you support it while working on the lower row? Thanks.

Reaching visible edge with a tile

Hello, after watching so many instructional videos and planing, I just can't understand how to tile a simple drywall construction in our bathroom. I got some good advice here so I hope you guys can help me on this one. Basically, there is a drywall construction (1.10 m high, 20 cm deep) where...

Unevenness of the wall to be tiled

It is the german product called Schomburg 1k Aquafin. Has to be applied in at least two coats which get thinner as they dry. This corner does not to be completely waterproof because it is partially outside shower. The shower itself has to be waterproofed (as well as floor of the whole bathroom)...

Unevenness of the wall to be tiled

That was when the first coat of waterproofing has been applied. With the second coat I managed to even thing out, and now I am about 4 mm of difference on a 1 m straight edge.

Unevenness of the wall to be tiled

Brick wall, plastered. I did make it smooth and got to 2-3 mm difference in a meter. However, after putting the mud waterproofing (using strips) I got few mm more at the corners/edges. That is why I have more difference now.

Unevenness of the wall to be tiled

Hello, I am a noob trying to tile our shower. Since the old tiles were taken off, some of that wall material has been taken off as well, so everything had to be smoothed. After smoothing with some cement compound and waterproofing "mud" layer I measured the evenness of the walls. On 1 m of...
