Yes, my drive board has Velcro pads on the bottom, the white polishing pads I use for buffing dealer and grimex, the silicone carbide pads have a felt back that adheres quite well to the velcro. How do you post video on here? Took a quick vid of sanding Laitance today

Just been looking tonight for a scarifier/sanding product for my Victor 400. Drive plates aren't particularly cheap and not sure where I can buy sanding discs off the shelf and physically check the products before buying locally.
I'm wondering if black pads might suffice even if I chew through alot of them.
Also not sure if the 400 is man enough for the job.

This is where I get all my pads, whether it silicone carbide or scrubbing/polishing pads, white and red. When you say black are you on about the courser version of the white and red?
What's wrong with your current drive plate?

Yeah black pads are the coarsest pads, white are the finest then they increase through to black, the darker the colour of pad, the coarser they are.
My drive pad was damaged when I first bought my machine, and lent it to a builder "friend" before i had a chance to use it. He returned it after using the incorrect grinding disc for the drive, and wore the plastic base of the drive flat, so wouldnt grip normal pads.
I told him to replace the drive plate, but instead of paying 120 noted for a new one, he bodged a wire bristle pad on the bottom. It works, but not as meant to be.
I was lead to believe from looking tonight, sanding pads require a different drive plate?
Can you post the site you use please?

Really?!!! Feels like I'm going down to the biscuit of the screed as it is, out of interest how to I go about adding weight?
You can actually buy shaped weights that sit on top of the machine.
When I did a restoration course, they advised us to have a heavy machine. The ones they sold started at over 50kgs can't remember exactly, but I know some were 75kg. Beauty of the add ons tho is that you can adjust accordingly.
