The 2010 Olympics require 70,000 volunteers to run the place. What a way to get the hosting country into the games FOC. haha
I thought they said in 2005 that this will create lots of jobs, I didn't think they meant ones you don't get paid for doing! They left that bit out back then!
I heard this on the radio today.. .. I laffed..
different goverment then
its just more cost cutting
heard on the radio today they are looking for voulanteers to police the parking outside schools
They've moved the olympics forward 2 years!!! Nobody told me!
hope not, nothings finished:lol:
you need to get your name down now as they are looking for 70.000 people to work buck shee and if your not quick you may not get on the list
the olympics has created jobs and the good news is 20% of the construction jobs went to british workers
A couple of times I've been a volountary walking steward at Open Championships where you walk ahead to the landing area and make sure the ball is ok. On the earlier rounds you can chat away to the top players to a degree as you walk down the fairway. On the final day when it's all a bit crazy you can walk through the crowd and the ropes and stand at the edge of the green when the crucial putts go in. Brilliant....and they sometimes struggle to get people to do it cos it's not paid. It's the best view in the house.
I can't see them allowing 70k people to be in that position mate. I think most of the volunteers are travel advisers, interpreters, ticket checkers, that sort of stuff. (Probably litter pickers and the likes too).
