Hi All,

I'm very new to this so probably a very silly question. I have stripped the tiles off my bathroom wall. The finishing plaster has come off too and whilst the undercoat is flat enough to tile on I was wondering whether I need to skim the wall with finishing plaster

Thanks
Rowan

Hello Rowan and welcome..

You cannot tile directly to any backing/base coats.. it will need to be either over skimmed or a one coat patching plaster can be used..

What are you intending to stick on the walls now..?

use floor adhesive, i will be alright. my suggest is to you, use 12mm trowel and kinda slow setting floor adhesive. i hope youll sort it out. regards

What? You cant tile directly onto a base coat.

Rowan, Dave is spot on, you will need a finishing coat and then you are good to go
