Hay all,

i'm in need of refreshing my memory on starting to lay out a diamond pattern on walls. I'd like to know where exactly to start. Normally doing squares i go from my piece of baton that i've already worked out where the best place is to get the best cuts. But where do i start with a diamond sequence.?? Do i use a baton?

Always lay first (whole) tile dead centre on the batton and work out with your half tile, followed by a whole tile, and a half etc.. (same other direction) and carry on like that. Dont work more than 2 tiles high as you work accross both ways.

You need to adjust the whole tile along with the half tile as you work along the wall to make sure there aligned properly. I'd get a 45 degree level on each whole tile as you work accross because this dictates what angle the following rows are going to be like so pretty important.

is the dead centre of batton also the centre of the whole wall? also what about the cutts under the batton once you have removed it?? or would the batton represent where the skirting boards would go?

thanks for the help!!!!

Dead centre of the wall accross. How high up the wall depends where your first row of diamonds start. If its a complete wall of diamonds then just start from the lowest point on the wall you can get an entire line of diamonds all accross the wall without interuptions/cuts needed.
