Only trying to clear some confusion. From the op I assumed that the cill wasn't being tiled. I never suggested tiling the cill.

I would never start with a cut on a work top. I would build the sill up as much as possible. I wouldn't start chopping it off

Just looked them up on tile trader, they look nice and convenient, I use the old ts40 for kitchens, be nice having something smaller.

Always an issue how to tile the cill ....bond it with the cut or brick bond it....
