Removable Bath Panel

I've just had my bathroom tiled, floor and ceiling with 30 x 60cm porcelain tiles ontop of Wedi board. The bath sits in the corner and I asked both the tiler and plumber about access to the pipes etc.
The tiler suggested using plywood silconed onto the wood frame which he would then tile. If access was needed then the tiled board could be pulled off and then refitted and grouted. The plumber agreed.

I've just returned home and seen the job that the tiler has 'finished'. The plywood has bowed away from the bath in the middle (long side) and the tiles don't seem to be firmly attached.
I've phoned him and he said we just need to pull it off and resilicone it and hold it firmly in place until it goes off.

Having read through this forum it would seem that plywood is a bad idea and wedi board would have been better. But would the silcone still work or would it rip the wedi board if it was removed?

Could i get your opinions of this? Thanks in advance.

What thickness ply was used?
If its bowed already then it doesnt sound very good.
Silicon itself wont be enough to get the bow out.
Have you paid the tiler?? Please say no.

Sorry that should have been walls and floor.
It was 12mm ply and no he hasn't been paid yet.

He's done an excellent job on the rest of the room but I think he's rushed this bit. I'd just like to get an idea of what best practice would be in this situation so that when he comes back we can sort it out.

Theres nothing wrong with using 12mm ply,I've used it for bath panels many times.Maybe its just a bad piece. Mention this to him I'm sure he'll sort it out for you if he's already done a good job.
