if I can't be leveled then I'd go Dave's option of ramping it with the tiles are 600x300 they should lend themsevles to this if it's the 300mm edge up againt the lip

On the trim note, anybody know of any decent online suppliers of the Reno-U, I need the 20mm version and as nobody stocks it round here they want crazy money plus carriage

You are your own worse critic! If you know there are mistakes hten you are already on your way to either rectifying them OR not making the same mistakes again.

Can you not overlay the ply with another piece of 3/4 ply to raise it?

The simplest way of covering the face would be a mosaic strip in a matching contrasting colour....still sounds like a trip hazard...maybe a yellow and black mosaic in that case!
