Doing my first splashback, the splashback has two walls i've done the one with the window next to the sink now i'm going to do the other but not sure about the expansion joint for the corner? Have been told to include the tile width and adhesive and spacer, but dont understand where spacer comes into calculation? also how do i set up the second tile in the joint? can anyone explain the theroy behind a correctly set up expansion joint? thanks

Not really sure where the tile width, adhesive and spacer comes into it, sounds more t=like a setting out calculation to me. If you have already completed your first wall you should have cut up to the second wall and left a roughly 3mm gap. This is part of the expnasion joint. When you tile the second wall, tile as normal from you datum and when you get to your cut into the wall you have already done, cut to about 3 mm again. This should have covered your original cut from the first wall and leave you a nice clean joint for your Silicon.

I assume this is a straight set and not brick bond we are talking about?
