careful with the comparisons if you search for the model number you will notice that some are 1.4ah, some 2ah and others 3ah, all very different batteries
Had the same probs Kilty, took it back though as it was the chuck that went. Got the hitachi 18vt and 2 drills and not had a problem with mine. Use it all the time on floors on aqua panel np's. Quick recharge time 1hr(but u get two batts as well) was £140 outta screwfix
I was looking at them in toolmonkey Mark, brilliant bit of kit for the money
while I was in there I asked about their website as I thought it would be good for members on here but they havent updated it and dont do mail order at the moment
Hi Kilty If you can go the extra cost, Festool 12 volt or 15 volt.
I have had a 4" tank cutter on the angle attachment fitted to the 12 volt drill. Its got loads of grunt.
I was using the makita 18v 3.ah li-ion LXT drill today that i bought from Ed !
I was putting up cabinets in a bathroom and ensuite plus toilet roll holders etc.
I used a 6mm masonry bit to bore through the glazed ceramics on normal twist then knocked hammer on to drill into the solid walls, wow !! one hell of a drill with two lights too on the front! very highly specced kit with two batteries and a 22 minute charger.
