UK Does gypsum plaster stain marble?

Hi, in anyone’s experience, would gypsum plaster irreparably stain marble tiles? In my bathroom, a half wall of white marble tiles has been installed, then, after fixing the tiles, plaster has been applied to the half wall above. A few of the marble dados look a bit muddy after this (even after cleaning). Is this normal?

It’s a porous material. So yes can absorb the pink of the plaster. Are the dado tiles sealed.

Hello, thanks so much. No, they weren’t sealed yet. It’s only 2 out of 6 that seem to be affected so will swap them out for new ones, sealed this time (!)
