Asked to quote a 40 sq mtr conservatory floor in limestone. Concrete floor, under floor heating but for starters they don't want to put a (latex) self leveller down???
They want the tiles laying in brickbond (over the 10 mtr length) which in my mind rules out an expansion joint. As I have never used Ditra or Ex. joints before I could do with your help.

Once you start using UFH then the distance for an expansion joint comes down to

about 5 to 6mtrs in a single run....So i would half that run and put an expansion

in...even if there isn't one in the substrate it needs one in the tiling....this will

alleviate the stress transferred from the substrate.......I would also consider

putting down the Ditra for limestone in a conservatory..it can get quite warm in

there in the summer and it will prevent stress cracks in the stone........

better to be safe than sorry........good luck...........

Cheers Dave, told them they would have to have one in but they didn't want the brickbond pattern 'spoilt'! tough
