Do you need to acrylic prime asphalt flooring before tiling?

Yes you do, apply it neat, tile within 24 hrs....Gaz

and if it is a smooth shiny finished asphalt then yes prime.....
MASTIC ASPHALT BASES:
• Check that mastic asphalt is suitably sound (without
brittleness, softening. etc.) with adequate cohesive strength,
with a natural float finish and laid on a firm rigid base.
• Ensure that surface is sufficiently regular to suit bedding
depths of adhesive.
• Clean thoroughly to remove surface dirt using warm water
and a suitable detergent. Remove all detergent residues with
clean water.• Check that mastic asphalt is suitably sound (without

Also if it is a shiny surface ryan..you could use a slurry coat for stronger adhesion............
