Filler for holes prior to tiling

i agree with mike.you will spend more time filling and sanding than replacing the back board.if depth is a problem use backer board screwed on to existing studs,or replace gyproc and if a shower tank it

Simple way to mitre a tile..................Mitre Wiz

the idea is excellent.but for the professional tiler it will stand or fall on the quality of the finished mitre.price is not the issue unless its marketed for the diys.i tried many chop saws in the past but in the end had to pay for a real flip over to get a decent joint in timber,so the same...

    Ready mixed adhesive grout problem

i agree about never drying.i spoke to manufacturers techys and ready mixed dries around exposed edge first. this seals the remainder of the adhesive from air drying.result on a non porous surface is that it will never go off.i learned the hard way. lift the tiles ,start again. best of luck.

    Another shower tray leak

hi i have found in re sealing shower or bath lips that you have to be very pedantic about cleaning and preparing.remove as much sealant as possible mechanically.ie feincut or flexiblade.then use a good silicon remover giving it enough time to soften up.repeat mechinical removal.remove residue...

how to replace water damaged chipboard under tiles?

it depends on how much damage there is.if the floor rotted you have no choice but to rip out and start again.any tiles sitting on a rotten floor will lift. kitchen units can be left if they have adjustable legs .new flooring can be fitted underneath provided there are no tiles under units.best...

    Drying rack idea needed

hi i would try some form of hot air blower ducted to the underside of a vented tray.maybe the sieve with some flexi vent pipe.you could use a cheap argos fan heater, even a hair dryer. it depends on what area you need, double tray it, how much heat etc.
