Thanks Del, I just wish I had work now its so quiet, 26 years tiling and its become a problem paying bills as people are holding off getting work done, I quoted for a 3 day job 2 weeks ago at £390.00 for labour and the customer gave the job to a builder, to lay under floor heating, screed & tlie with porcelain tiles and colour matched grout to cover 10m2!! I don't know what I'm doing wrong lately save to say I've hardly worked this year, my wife and I are fed up. CAN ANYONE HELP US Ian & Annalisa
Ian, the market up here is so patchy its becoming a real worry. I used to do all the tiling work for 4 or 5 small builders, it was a good foundation for my business, but they have been so quiet since March last year they are doing it themselves. My turnover is down about 20%. I am doing more repairs than ever, usually where some "tiler" has made a hash of a job and it needs finishing or repairing. The biggest problem being wetrooms where buildes have had a go and made a total mess. Wetroom, corridor, kitchen.........
