Hi To Everyone,got A Question For You All,has Anyone Bought One Of Those Mirak Washboys On Ebay And Are They Worth A Go?? I Know I Should Probably Go For A Karl Dahm But I Wouldnt Mind Saving A Few Quid At The Moment,any Ideas Would Be Greatly Taken< Cheers

cant comment on the one on eby but if its cheap, then theres normally a reason.

As long as the rollers are bearing based then it should be ok....and you could always buy a better sponge board if the one that comes with it is no good...... .
But you only want to buy one washboy so if i was you i would buy a good one first time....rubi or karldahm...both are top notch.........

no its got two rollers,just not sure about the firm...or the washboy!!!, anyone know about the washboy sold on the yorkshire tile place?? the one for 33 quidish?? any views?

Ive used black grout a few times, aint seen an effect on the KD....yet!
Mind you i avoid black like the plague!

I suppose some residue from black grout could linger in the rollers, which could be transfered onto your sponge when you're using it next time on light coloured grout

I bought one from Mirak about this time last year. Think they may be a bit dodgy as a co because ebay removed them & feedback a month or so after.

It works fine but the float is a bit poor, so I replaced that after a couple of months. Still think it was worth the money. Havent seen the others mentioned, but have seen the trade on in Topps which is a poor second, even to the Mirak Tools one!

we use both the Karl Damm and the cheapy one from Yorksire Tiling both excellent, used every day. We have recently bought a Rubiclean and can not get on with it. It's hard to clean, needs filling to the top, the sponge board that comes with it has so many bits on the back that fill with water , a nightmare ( Bal make the best sponge boards)Anybody else had these probs?

yeah i`ve the rubi one,dont like it either you have to fill it right to the top so if you move it about too quick water everywhere ,will either sell it or buy the karl damm one if i accidently damage the rubi.

karl dahm all the way for me, years of use and no probs, replace boards regular, does need a bit of a spruce up though!! Brick acids comin out again!!

The Mirak one is value for money. Turned up quick and got a few extra sponges thrown in so no worries. Great if you're starting out 'cos you don't want to be doshing out on a KD.

I like the "tiler" designer stuff, so will be getting a KD to add to my Rubi, Stabila and Snickers badges :lol: in the future.

Raimondi for me, best investemt I ever made. What I like about this, my local Raimondi stockist also sells different sponges for different tile types. e.g. rough/riven for slate, smooth for general, and different grades/thickness of sponges. Do KD do these?
