Uncoupling membrane and insulation - Tile Advice

I have posted on the forum before about an awful tiling job I had done several months ago.

I have found another local recognised tiler who will be redoing the work. He has recommended that I do not need the uncoupling membrane. Any thoughts on this? I am not necessarily questioning his opinion but given I’ve gone through the previous shoddy work I feel like I do need to ask for a second opinion.

are insulation boards worth getting without underfloor heating?

Insulation boards with no UFH doesn't make sense to me. Not really much heat difference or loss via the floor without UFH.

Uncoupling membrane would be required in certain circumstances.

What is being tiled to?

Apologies. I should have said the floor is concrete in a new build and covers 24m2

New build should have insulation under the screed ,
I would say no membrane and I'm risk adverse Mr belt and braces

Yeah providing the 24 meters are all the same room and floor you're fine going right over it.
