Travertine

Im inserting a mosaic travertine border at the moment. Two squares high of 2" x 2" squares. Will I be OK sticking them with the same adhesive as the ceramic tiles - seeing as its only a border?

Im using tub adhesive from Topps for the walls - will i get away using this on the border aswell?

Yes, you should be OK - just make sure you use the right size trowel if they are thin mosaics, to stop the adhesive coming through.

The size of trowel to use is dictated by the thickness of the border and also the thickness of the tiles. If the border is the same thickness as the tiles then a thin bed trowell may not be adequate as the border will end up, set back from the tiles.
In the case of thin mosaics as a border you would probably need to pack out the wall using strips of plywood or tile backer board behind the mosaics to bring them out to the correct depth so that a mosaic trowel can be used.
