Hi all,

I have a a quiet big floor to tile on a concrete floor the problem is its 2 rooms that have been knocked through. Problem is where the wall was there is about a 3/4 inch step in floor levels on one side of where the wall was.

The other end of where wall was was is about a 1/4 off level so not much of a problem the wall was about 10 feet long, there is also the trench where the bricks were before the concrete was laid.

Its about 10 feet from the step to some doors that i cannot go too high because of exsisting floors so im going to have to try and ramp it down

I only have a week to complete the whole thing what would people suggest i use to try and level this out? i cant screed it as wont have the time for it to go off or would it?

All i could think off was
1)use rapid set adhesive - expensive
2)slc id have build up in layers and would take a while between each
3)plywood part of it to bring the levels up a bit

any suggestions gratefully received

hi klunk i would play it safe and render it im sure the custemer would understand if they want it done :8:

if you want the job done right , you got to get a level screed down mate, self leveling screed's not too bad a price

Hi Klunk, the doors should be at the same level so i'm guessing there is a run on the floor from the door to the old wall. Self level it, normally fill the void where the wall was with S/C screed but won't be dry in time, so you might have some issues filling that with slc. Customer should understand delays if they want a good job done

level it first with rapid PTB fill trench with bricks or any thing else similar then you will be able to tile on top in a couple of hours 😛ete

hi,

The actual floor where the doors are is level its the floor on what was the other side of wall thats high- if been other way round i could have got over it easy but im trying to keep it as tight as possible so i dont create a step through the 2 doors that lead to the other rooms

cheers
