Honing powder has to be applied with a brush, cant use a pad with honing powder, only for polishing and scrubbing. :thumbsup:

You could use a pad but as you say they wont last long and they wont really hone properley either unless the surface is like a billiard table

Although the middles are white im a little unclear why the colour would transfer to certain stone. Kev was stating to avoid coloured brushes. I have various brushes but all white, grey or black.

The coloured brushes are fine, its the coloured pads you want to avoid on stone, because if your cleaning or polishing with say, green, red, black pads you can end up staining the edge of the stone...So only use white or tan. :thumbsup:
