hi all

just bought 2 tubs of ardex d20

has any one used this gear and if so any info on it, it says it will stick porcies etc, but am always to the belief that powder is the only thing for porcies

Never used it....i believe it is ok for small format but i prefer a suitable powdered adhesive.

never used it andy,i used a mapei tubbed addy last week froma trade day that was okay for porcelain also i didnt know you could get tubbed gear for porc tiles

DESCRIPTION
ARDEX D 20 is used in dry internal locations
for fixing ceramic tiles and mosaics on gypsum
plaster, paper faced-boards, concrete, cement
and sand renders, rigidly braced and stable
sheets and boards, e.g. plywood, chipboard,
fibre building boards etc., and other absorbent
backgrounds, as well as fixing porous tiles
to existing ceramic tiling. Suitable for use in
domestic showers and bathrooms on appropriate
backgrounds, i.e. moisture resistant
plaster-board, cement and sand render etc.​

Andy,the d20 is only suitable for small porcelain tiles and shouldnt be used for large format tiles.This product is a few years old,i remember asking about it a couple of years ago.Cant beat rapidset for porcelain m8.

Wouldnt use it on large formats as the norm, stick with powder, however D20 is a superb adhesive. If using D20/30 very rare any batons would be needed, grips amazing. not the cheapest gear mind.

I've used it for over seven years now. Great for small format tiles on plaster, plasterboard, ply etc, very good initial grab. I wouldn't use on tiles over 300 x300 or porcelian though. Also self priming.

Yes Doug, I remember Arduit and it is the same company, your going back 15 years or more there Bomber........sorry Doug!
