Hi All,

Just a question with regards to mechanical fixings.
We know about the weight ratios when fixing to skim coat, plasterboard etc but I was wondering if there is anything in the domestic market to allow higher weights with a mechanical fix like the way I've heard its done on facing of commercial buildins using L pins and stone clips etc.

cheers

Mark

there is nothing in the domestic market ,mechanical fixing can be achieved easily and cost effectively using stainles steel wire ,fixings are made using pliers making S hooks and cramps, only the 10mm tiles used by tilers dont give enough room to accomodate the wire and drilling them often breaks the front or back of the tile out thats why marble fixers normally use 20mm for wall linings
