And just when it was all going so smoothly.... I was cutting an envelopea cut in marble tiles, made a template, cut them all, so they fitted brilliantly, lines all in line, then started taking the tiles out, and one broke down a fault line. The marble has a mesh on the back, so everything lines up well, is it ok to fix the marble in this state onto a shower former, or should I recut the tile?

I'd say recut because you've opened up and extra line of weakness there that won't be covered with grout or sealant....I know you'll be sealing the tiles all at some point, and its a pain in the arse if it still works, but I would personally cut again.

realy you are using marble on a wet room floor why not just cut some sponges up and use them but dont forget to seal. so what is marble ok i will keep this simple marble is mud sluge conpacted over a million years or so the weakest of all stones and the worst to use in a wet area with more fishers than you can shake a stick at .crema marfill being one of the worst .every line going through marbel is a weak point with its legs wide open begging to get wet and let you in .mesh on the back is telling this is a no no .in a wet area.

Re-cut it.

I'd avoid any shiny tile in a shower, it's a slip waiting to happen. Mosaics all the way. Then you don't need a shoddy looking shower mat thing.
