In linguistics and pedagogy, an interlinear gloss is a gloss (series of brief explanations, such as definitions or pronunciations) placed between lines, such as between a line of original text and its translation into another language. When glossed, each line of the original text acquires one or more corresponding lines of transcription known as an interlinear text or interlinear glossed text (IGT)—interlinear for short. Such glosses help the reader follow the relationship between the source text and its translation, and the structure of the original language. In its simplest form, an interlinear gloss is simply a literal, word-for-word translation of the source text.

Had a 3 problem jobs over the last 12 months, where a shade difference is noticable only when tiles have been fixed, grouted and cleaned.
First of these was when customer supplied B&Q 30x20 gloss white (in blue boxes, no batch or shade codes on them) all looked same when fixing, but only when...
I'm after some advice. Having the above tiles fitted today and was wondering what spacers people use? I think it looks better without any spacers as there is still 0.5mm gap due to the edges of the tiles bevelled. What do you guys think?

Hi,
I'm having to replace some - BCT CORNITE - WHITE GLOSS (not sure of exact shade-don't have a serial number - just CORNITE on back of tile) 148mmx148mm.
Have tried BCT directly/Topps/Travis Perkins/Mylocaltileshop online ... can't seem to find a stockist in London for this size. possibly an...
Two months ago had bathroon walls and floor tiled in the above by a reputable tiler. After 1 month a hairline crack appeared across 5 tiles. Tiler came back and said he had not encountered this before but thought it may be due to a join in boards under tiles - there was a join under and he...
told a customer i could get these tiles as they used to be readily available but now apparently they are not as i can't find them anywhere! another similar black budget tile would do the job but the tiles in question retailed at roughly £4/m2
any help appreciated
I've seen some tiles in B&Q (don't groan) and I fancy having them for down in my dining room. Only problem I foresee is that they are shiny gloss and I just wonder if they'll get scratched by dining chairs and vertically challenged friends in killer heels.
any views people? :grinningelf:

I'm wondering what is easier to maintain. Would it be the high gloss finish tiles or a matt finish tile ? The area I am looking to cover is a Kitchen and small toilet.
Which would be best for being stain resistant, scratching and easier to keep clean ?
Can anyone help !
Ive been trying to find 8 sq/m of pilkington matrix gloss white tiles 200mm x 100mm (Not bevelled).
Ever since Pilkington went to the wall these are like rocking horse poo . Ive looked all on the net can anyone help.
Very High Gloss white tile wanted in 200mm x 100mm. Not bevelled edge.
The gloss must be very high to match the door finishes on the kitchen units. Tried Johnsns PRG1 but have a creamy tint to them. We do have the right gloss finish but its bevelled edge. Anyone any ideas and a link if possible...
I have been to look at a job today and the walls have been painted with like a gloss finish paint they are really shiny whats the best way to get this off to tile to the walls never come across this befor its in the bathroom.
Hi folks, half way through a Trav bathroom/ wetroom area, and the customer wants the tiles to be nice and shiny. I've told him they could be polished up, but he wants them sealed shiny. I would normally use Stainstop/ SS+ which has no/ little sheen.
Can you recommend a seal that you've used...
Hi All,
I have just laid a new floor with pebble tiles, just like pebbles from a beach.
I have used unibond Black adhesive and then Gran-fix, Hygienic Maxigrout in Black.
The store recommended this grout as it was less sandy to the unibond which left a smoother finish. I'm pretty pleased...
Hi,
A friend of a neighbour has Quarry tiles fitted in her kitchen, and apparently they have got dirty and cant seem to be cleaned.
Without looking, it seems like they have not been sealed to me, as they are so porous does this mean the dirt is too ingrained and cant be shifted.
My neighbour...
We recently tiled our bathroom and used TileLab Gloss Sealer&Finish.
Problem is, it ran down onto the bathtub and dried to a big mess.
We've tried using vinegar and some cleaners, but it doesn't seem to work.
What can we use to remove the sealer off of the Bathtub without damaging the...
