most big construction companys now insist on a supervisor being present on site, it doesnt matter whether theres 12 tilers or 1 thats the way its going now. I myself have a cscs gold card but had to go on a 2 day supervisors course and they are quite expensive, 350 -400 quid i think it was. My course was taken in sunderland and there were others there from different parts of the country so they must be few and far between. I think it was citb not sure, it was a couple of years ago now, The criteria required now is becoming a joke, the health & safety aspect especially the wearing of safety glasses all day is hopeless. The sites were a great place to work years ago but not any more, theres never a day goes by without an argument with the builder over H&S. Its gone mad.
