Just come out of a period of 3 months non-stop tiling work, and had to make a 2 week break to allow me to finish fitting the interior of our home extension. I have had to turn down 3 jobs to free up this fortnight, and when I return I am taking bookings for mid-September. I know the industry is enjoying a surge because I am getting customers falling over themselves to hire me .... because all the better tilers are all fully booked.

My last post was a little rant in the main Forum following a wasted journey to Bristol. To say that I am astonished that CTD (a) read the post, (b) cared enough to phone me and apologise (C) did all this within 2 hours of opening - is an understatement. It does underline the importance of the tiling forum to the tiling industry as well as the genuine desire of some retailers to support tile fixing specialists "in the trade."

Last weekend I popped into Tileflair (Longwell Green) and asked for the latest Tilemaster Grout swatch. The following day the manager of emailed Mark at TA requesting more swatches plus an additional one for me (I was copied into the email). Incidentally I have been trying TA Trade Flexirapid (5 bags) just £8.55 ex vat per bag - what a quality trade product that is.

Every time I need supplies in the vicinity of a Tile Giant I now go direct there. The branch in Malago Rd, Bedminster, Bristol have been particularly accommodating in discounting even though I am not a regular customer. I was impressed to get Mapesil LM silicone for just £11.91 ex vat a tube (I use it a lot with Limestone and Travertine and I bought 10 tubes the price was so good). I also have tried their Mapei Pro Flexible - exclusive to Tile Giant - (12 bags) at £8.33 ex vat - yet another excellent trade RSF addy that turned out to be.

I notice how few people are posting on the forums - excepting the disruption caused by the cyber attack, its got to mean that we are all too busy tiling to spend time typing messages!

Lets hear from you all about the good things happening. :sunny:
